☀️ Solar Eclipse 2024 Safety Guidelines🌙

Parlier Unified School District (PUSD), in conjunction with the Office of Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS), wants to inform the public of the solar eclipse happening on April 8, 2024. Fresno County will experience the sun being covered by the moon, with the maximum coverage taking place at 11:07 a.m., weather permitting.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Parlier Junior High School and the 2023-2024 school year. Our Tiger families and staff share Parlier Unified School District's vision which is "Every Student, Everyone, Every Day."
Our goals are focused on:
 
1. Accomplished students
Establish, align, and deepen the implementation of quality learning, teaching and leadership practices in all classrooms and schools
 
2. Supportive environments
Institute inclusive environments where students, families and staff feel safe and welcome and are supported to attain goals based on high expectations
 
3. Empowered communities 
Build and strengthen partnerships between stakeholders so that the community is empowered and positively impacts student achievement 
 
We are dedicated to ensuring the academic success of every student by providing them with a comprehensive educational experience within a safe environment that sets high expectations and multi-tiered systems of support.
 
Our staff will continue to utilize engaging classroom practices and curriculum in addition to regularly integrating technology.  We remain steadfastly committed to the Arts with multiple offerings related to visual and performing arts to develop our students innate creativity, and talent, including folkloric dance exploration, art, color guard, marching band, jazz band, percussion, brass, woodwind, and choir.  
 
Our excellent staff provides our students with opportunities to engage in Ag Exploration, Ag Technology, Ag Skills Intro to Spanish I, Robotics, Student Leadership Development, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Career Technical Education Intro to Medical and Medic terms which continue at PHS Medial Pathway. English Language Development, and challenging and rigorous curriculum that addresses the Common Core state standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and California History-Social Science Content Standards.  
 
We are proud to serve the students in Parlier and invite you to work collaboratively to make this school year the best experience possible for our students.  Be on the lookout for events that will regularly be held on campus and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have so I can continue to learn and grow in ways to serve as your principal.
